Clematis fremontii S. Wats.
Growing in height to 1.5 feet tall, this species is native to the midwest, but has recently been recorded in Georgia and Tennessee. Erect, large net veined foliage for the species, the flowers are purple with pale green margins. Found on rocky prairie hillsides, it grows in limestone soils.
